I have come a long way in terms of accepting my body image, but I was finding myself remarking on my body as well. The dresses I was trying on were showing my stomach and it felt unflattering.
After reflecting on my day I have realized browsing a bunch of stores was no coincidence. I needed to hear these women.
Ladies: Your body fat or lack thereof does not determine your worth. Even if you lose the arm fat, or gain the boobs, your heart still needs to be addressed. I have come to accept I will not lose my little tummy and I'm cool with it because I practice daily yoga and mostly eat pretty healthy. But I love pizza. I love beer. I love dessert. All I'm saying is let's change our relationship with our bodies. Instead of bashing ourselves, let's raise our vibration. Raising our vibration requires building an all-loving relationship with ourselves.
As Thicht Naht Hahn says in How to Love, "If you can accept your body, then you have a chance to see your body as your home. You can rest in your body, settle in, relax, and feel joy and ease. If you don't accept your body and your mind, you can't be at home with yourself. You have to accept yourself as you are. This is a very important practice. As you practice building a home in yourself, you become more and more beautiful."
