Success, as Doreen Virtue says, is when “someone feels good about their contribution to society.” In terms of your career, why can’t your success be doing the work that you love? We were all put on this earth to discover and follow our Truth, but sometimes it gets muddled by the ego telling us we can’t.
Think about the things you do in your free time that you do so effortlessly and with ease. These are the things that feed your soul and this is the Universe's way of telling you this is your truth. You were put here to do this and help others understand it.
As a yoga entrepreneur I am constantly reminded to STAY ON THE RIVER. I have noticed the more I worry, and attach to these ideals that I have to be the yoga teacher with 100 people in the class, the more I put unneeded stress on myself. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I am not saying don’t aim high, or just sit there and all will come to you. There is work involved, but as Rumi says, “Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.”
I am reminded of this every day in my yoga practice, as I tune into my body’s needs, I am able to tell if I’m pushing myself too hard, or not hard enough. This translates to life off the mat because sometimes we may be so focused on a goal that we believe will make us happy but then find out quite the opposite. When we aren’t clear about what our life purpose is, you can say to the universe, “It’s this or something better.”
The universe will show you through many signs, although they may be subtle, what path to take. Let go of the notion that you always have to "work on something" because then we drain ourselves. For instance, while driving the other day I was listening to reggae music and noticed myself dancing, and in such a state of bliss. YOGA popped into my brain. BOOM. A reggae-themed yoga class! It’s that simple. It starts with an idea from YOUR inspiration. The rest is up to you. Stay on the river, ride the ebb and flow that life brings you because, ultimately, it is all guiding us closer to our truth.
